Emil Hegle Svendsen or “Super Svendsen” began his World Cup career in the 2005/06 season after a successful run as a junior on the European Cup winning 4 gold medals. Already an accomplished and decorated world cup skier with multiple victories on the circuit Svendsen took silver and two gold medals in Vancouver. Acclaimed for his deadeye accuracy with a rifle Svendsen is often compared to another Madshus biathalon legend, Ole Einar Bjorndalen. And with Svendsen’s brilliant performance since appearing on the scene, “Super Svendsen” would appear to be another legend in the making.
