Born and raised in the Methow Valley of Washington State, Sam Naney quickly rose to the top ranks of junior skiers in the US, landing on the podium at Junior National Championships no less than four times during his high school racing career. He went on to race for Dartmouth College and captained the team his senior year before launching his professional racing career. After one year of racing for a Montana team, he returned to his roots in the Methow and has been there ever since. Sam lives with his wife and energetic Husky, and competes for Madshus and his local team, Methow Olympic Development.
