Turbo junior Alvar Myhlback (SWE) chooses Madshus equipment on his journey to the top of the big international podiums.

“We are proud that Alvar chooses Madshus. Alvar has been a part of the Madshus family for years. We know him as an ambitious and determined young athlete aiming for the big podiums, and Alvar is certainly raising some eyebrows in the community, both nationally and internationally with his performance and talent,” says Per Wiik, Global Marketing Director at Madshus.

“There is no doubt that Alvar is ahead of the learning curve for his age, and as his ambitions grow, we continue to step up our support. We are excited to keep supporting him on his journey to become the best in the world,” Wiik adds.

Fast track to the top
Despite his young age, Myhlback has already made a bold statement at the senior level, both nationally and internationally.

This winter, the 16-year-old prodigy won the silver medal in the team sprint at the Swedish senior national championships.

“I finally had a chance to race the big guys for real, and what a way to kick off my career at the senior level. This was huge, and I’m super excited for the future,” Myhlback said after his formal podium finish at the senior elite level.

Earlier in the season, Myhlback also won the prestigious Craft Ski Marathon, but was disqualified because at 15, he was too young to formally enter the race.

Competing with the rest of the World Cup elite, Myhlback was 12th in the brutal uphill roller ski race Lysebotn Opp at the international Blink festival in Norway the first week of August. Additionally, Myhlback was fourth at the Swedish national roller ski cup in Falun in July, only half a minute behind Swedish national team racer William Poromaa.

This fall, Myhlback is headed for the ski academy in Torsby, where he will pursue both academics and athletics for the coming years. He has also signed with the Swedish professional marathon team Lager157 Ski Team, one of the top two teams in the international long-distance series Ski Classics.
