For 120 years, Madshus has been dedicated to one thing: creating ski equipment that delivers the best possible experience on snow.

Since 1906, our focus has never drifted. From world-class athletes pushing limits at the highest level to recreational skiers finding rhythm on quiet winter trails, we design and craft our products with the same intention — to make every glide feel natural, every stride feel right, and every day on skis feel like it should.

Across generations, materials and technology have evolved, but our mindset remains unchanged: a deep respect for the sport, the snow, and the skiers who inspire us. It’s a simple philosophy, shaped by decades of passion and precision, and it continues to guide everything we build.

The process of building the best skis in the world is highly variable. How long does it take for a ski to be designed and approved? It depends. For example, developing the Nordic Pro Classic ski took just one day and three hours. That was possible because it was based on an existing model, and we had extensive data on its components along with testing from its predecessors. On the other end of the spectrum, engineering the new 2024 Redline skis has taken about three years and thousands of hours across design, development, and testing. That said, every model at every level is constantly a work in progress. We are passionate about skiing and always thinking about ways to improve our skis.Did you know:  For the 2022/23 season, Madshus is adding several new models to our flagship Redline series
Research and Development at Madshus is built around speed and precision. Our unique production method allows us to move from idea to finished test ski and have it on snow within 24 hours. From start to finish, building a ski involves roughly 50 different processes inside our factory. The location of that factory is another key advantage. We have access to natural snow near our facility for about eight months of the year, and during the remaining warmer months we utilize nearby ski tunnels to continue testing year-round.

Madshus engineers are obsessively detail oriented because our racers compete at a level where every fraction of a gram matters, and where these details can separate the winners from the rest. We are constantly developing the Redline product category, and spare no effort or expense in order to improve. Champions never rest, and they never compromise their pursuit of excellence. Within Madshus’ Department 19, we carry this same passion by continually pushing for perfection and maximum performance gains.

From the start line to the quietest trail, the goal remains the same: make every stride feel right.
120 years down and still chasing what comes next.
