“You cant have too much respect for Bjoergen. I felt really good today and there was no point holding back,” Heidi Weng (Madshus) said after the final event of the 3-race week in Aure/Kristiansund (NOR). She literally parked Bjoergen in the grand finale.
Weng opened the race week at Toppidrettsveka in Aure (NOR) with a strong second place in the 24K mass start classic roller ski race. Weng was second to Marit Bjørgen by only seconds.
Then Weng continued the race week with a double victory Friday: first she won the running race in Kristiansund, edging out Marthe Kristoffersen for first place. Then she won the roller ski skate pursuit in the afternoon. Weng was almost a full minute ahead of Bjoergen, who was second.
