Krista Lähtenmaaki – mark that name: This is the young Finnish cross-country skier who has arrived with a splash on the World Cup circuit and has been flagged the rising star by everyone in the nordic community – from coaches and fellow athletes to veteran ski reporters. As one of the most promising racers on the international circuit, Lähtenmaaki has chosen to renew her contract with Madshus as her complete equipment provider – skis, boots and poles – through the 2014 Olympic season. The contract is in agreement with Madshus’ strategy of partnering with young, talented racers. The contract with Lähtenmaaki is bound to prove beneficial to both parties for years to come. We are excited to announce Lähtenmaaki a part of our team!
Ingvild Flugstad Østberg: Madshus and Ingvild Flugstad Østberg (Norway) have agreed to extend her contract, and Østberg ski on Madshus skis for the next two seasons. Østberg is one of Norway’s most talented young cross-country skiers, and has just completed a very successful transition to the senior level and her first World Cup season was a huge success. At Madshus, we are both excited and proud to announce that Østberg has chosen to partner with Madshus as she continues her pursuit to establish herself among the very best on the World Cup circuit.
We are excited that German super-veteran Axel Teichmann, the man with the incredible engine, has decided to continue racing through the 2014 Olympics in Sochi (RUS). Teichmann has even announced that he will race on Madshus skis and ski boots throughout his career. At Madshus, we are more than happy to continue our fruitful relationship with Teichmann for the next three years.
Kristin Störmer Steira (Norway) has decided to continue her successful racing career through 2014 Olympics in Sochi, and also renewed her contract with Madshus for the next three years. At Madshus, we’ll do everything in our power to help her earn her coveted individual Olympic gold medal.
Team Madshus Norway, our successful sponsor program designed to help young talented skiers take the next step onto the international circuit, is proud to announce that Heidi Weng is transitioning to the World Cup level this season. Heidi has earned several gold medals at the FIS Nordic Junior World Championships, most recently from Estonia in January where she won the 10-kilometer pursuit and helped the Norwegian women to the victory in the 4×3.3 kilometer relay. We believe in Heidi and are looking forward to support her through her first season at the senior level!
