Madshus racers shine in charity event at Holmenkollen
Heidi Weng was second in the women’s 6.3-kilometer pursuit, only a second from the top of the podium. Madshus teammate Ingvild Flugstad Oestberg was eighth. The women skied three laps on the 2.1-kilometer roller ski loop in Holmenkollen.
In the men’s 12.6-kilometer pursuit, three Madshus racers were among the top 10, with Hans Christer Holund in fifth, Didrik Tønseth in eighth and Øystein Pettersen in tenth place. The men skied six laps on the same 2.1-kilometer roller ski loop as the women.
New this year, Oslo Ski Show moved from downtown at the waterfront to Holmenkollen ski arena with the new roller ski track. The move allowed for a safer racer, entirely free from traffic and a longer race course. This year, the women skied 10 kilometers and the men skied 15 kilometers.
Oslo Ski Show is the Norwegian National Team’s charity effort, where the proceeds from the event and the sponsor are donated to a non-profit. This year, it was Red Cross.
