“We have a super exciting young team with a roster of talented athletes who have signed long-term contracts with Madshus, both on the biathlon and the cross-country side. Additionally, we have a strong core team of World Cup athletes who are likewise aiming for the 2022 Olympics,” says Per Wiik, global marketing director at Madshus.
Biathletes such as Sivert Bakken and Vebjørn Sørum, as well as cross-country skiers Harald Østberg Amundsen (NOR) and Vebjørn Turtveit (NOR) are some of the promising men on the Team Madshus Beijing 2022 team.
On the women’s side, junior star Helene Marie Fossesholm (NOR), who earned several gold medals at the Junior World Championships and already routinely beats many of the top ten racers on the World Cup circuit, is certainly one to watch.
Also pay attention to Hedda Østberg Amundsen (NOR). The strong 20-year-old was among the top 10 at the Beitostølen FIS season openers last fall, and continued to post solid results throughout the season.

Among the returning World Cup racers, Wiik points out that Krista Pärmäkoski (FIN) is looking very strong so far this dryland season. The 28-year-old with four Olympic medals and six World Championship medals is headed into her 12th World Cup season.
Alexander Bessmertnykh (RUS) is also coming off a very strong season, and is no less ambitious for the next.
New on the Madshus World Cup team this season is Roman Rees (GER), joining fellow German national team racers Dominik Doll and Vanessa Hinz.
“With the signing of Roman Rees, we now have two of the strongest German biathletes as part of Team Madshus. We are very excited for the upcoming season,” Wiik says.
