Astrid Øyre Slind (NOR) sealed her second place in the overall Ski Classics with two solid victories back to back in April.
First the 31-year-old marathon specialist won the 50-kilometer Reistadløpet in Norway on April 6, considered the toughest event on the Ski Classics schedule. Then, she won the Ski Classics final Ylläs-Levi last weekend.
In the last race of the year, Slind, who often opts for kick wax where others ski on double-pole skis, pulled away from the rest of the field with 9 kilometers to go, and finished the 70-kilometer event with a solid gap to her competitors.
