At the IBU World Cup in Annecy-Le Grand Bornand (FRA), Madshus biathletes kick off the weekend with two podiums and three racers among the top five in the sprint on Thursday.
Lightning fast on the course Sturla Holm Lægreid and Benedikt Doll both cleaned up at the range both prone and standing, and pulled in to second and third place, respectively. Additionally, Timofey Lapshin (KOR) was fifth.
With incredibly inclement weather causing challenging conditions both on the course and at the range, equipment was a key to success throughout the weekend. Both Lægreid and Doll were skiing on the bold purple Madshus Redline LTD green base model specifically engineered for extremely wet conditions, setting them nicely up for the pursuit on Saturday.
Despite extremely icy courses and slippery conditions at the range, Lægreid, who started half a minute behind the sprint winner in the pursuit, made up more than a minute on the course. The 25-year-old won the race by nearly half a minute and bagged his first individual World Cup victory of the season.
Finally, on Sunday, Lægreid capped off the weekend with … yet another podium, pulling into second place just 0.3 seconds from another victory. Lægreid now sits in second place overall in the World Cup.

Eyes on the podium
At the FIS World Cup in Davos (SUI), Madshus cross-country skiers were handed sunny skies and perfect winter conditions for the final race weekend before Christmas.
Rising talent Edvin Anger (SWE) didn’t waste the opportunity, and made his second sprint final at the World Cup level and finished fifth in the skate sprint on Saturday. The 20-year-old, who was fourth at the World Cup sprint in Lillehammer (NOR) just two weeks ago, also posted the third fastest qualifier time in Davos.
Only hours away from Davos, turbo junior Alvar Myhlback (SWE) continues to make headlines. The 16-year-old super talent pulled into 11th place in the 40-kilometer Ski Classics marathon La Venosta Criterium in Italy, missing the top ten by only 10 seconds.
And finally, Sivert Wiig (NOR) was second in the sprint at the Scandinavian Cup in Östersund on Friday.
