Madshus racer Emil Hegle Svendsen didn’t miss a single target for Norway in the men’s relay at the 2012 World Championships in Rupholding (GER) and secured the gold fir Norway Friday afternoon.

“That was amazing, what he just did,” says teammate Ole Einar Bjoerndalen (Madshus) of Svendsen’s anchor leg effort.

While French anchor Martin Fourcade missed two targets, Svendsen was cool as a cucumber.

“I just gave everything. It wasn’t about securing the silver. It was about winning the gold. That was what we wanted,” Svendsen says to Norwegian TV station NRK after the race.

Three of the four racers on the Norwegian team are Madshus athletes: Ole Einar Bjoerndalen skied the first leg, Rune Brattsveen skied the second leg and Emil Hegle Svendsen anchored the team to the thrilling gold medal. Tarjei Boe skied the third leg.
