Madshus biathlete and three-time Olympian Michael Greis from Germany has decided to step down from his professional sports career.

“Madshus would like to take this opportunity to thank Michael Greis for his great contribution to the sport, and congratulate him with a long and successful career,” says Per Wiik, Global Marketing Director at Madshus.

“We have had an amazing time with Michael Greis on the Madshus Team, and look forward to continue working with him on a different level,” Wiik says.

Greis is a three-time Olympian, with the 2006 Winter Games in Turin as the highlight. During the 2006 Olympics, Greis won the gold medal in the 20km individual, the 4×7.5km relay and the 15km mass start. Greis has three World Championship gold medals (2004, 2007 and 2008), three silver medals and six bronze medals. He has won the overall IBU World Cup in 2007, and has 11 World Cup victories.
