Astrid Øyre Slind (NOR) was second at Kaiser Maximilian Lauf in Seefeld, Austria, on Saturday.
After 40 kilometers, Astrid Øyre Slind (NOR) was 15 seconds from first place, clocking in at 1 hour, 45 minutes and 20.1 seconds.
Due to extreme weather conditions with massive snowfall and avalanche hazards, the course was cut from 60 kilometers to 40 kilometers.
In addition to the podium finish, her third for the season, Slind won the climbing points, which were awarded at the top of the brutal hill after 7 kilometers.
Slind is currently leading the 2019 Ski Classics climbing competition. She is in second place for the overall 2019 Ski Classics Champion title, in second place in the 2019 Alp Trophy competition, and in second place for the 2019 sprint competition.
The next Ski Classics event is La Diagonela in Switzerland, on January 19. The race features a 65-kilometer course along the Engadin valley from St. Moritz to Zuoz.
The 30-year-old, who won the 2018 Ski Classics Nordic trophy, opened her 2018-19 Ski Classics marathon season with two podiums at the 2019 Ski Classics season opener in Livigno, Italy, on November 30 and December 2: Slind was second in both the Pro Team Prologue and the Individual Prologue, both days only seconds away from first place.
